Had a dream that my father was Jesus. I cried during it. I had my period during school and I had to tell Ms. Crain. She said ye-es. I was mad at her. I hate menstruating. It would be awful if I was raped and I got pregnant!

Went with Uncle Tom and Chris to his school Newark Academy. They're putting up lights for a show. At first day was boring but it improved. I find it hard to talk to people at the auditorium so I read "Go Ask Alice." While looking at stories on the wall I told Uncle Tom one was strange and he wrote it! How embarrassing! He (accident) put out cigarette in my Sprite and I unknowingly drank it. Gross! Owe Chris $1 for spitting from top of auditorium. Went to Grandma's for a while. Saw Robert who's changed -- more adult, i.e., boring. Had the usual "don't-talk-to-anyone" dinner at Granny's with everyone there.

Went from Margo's to Diane's and from there to 7 Corners. On the way we either were mad at Diane, Margo, or me. I saw Mr. Ritchie on the escalator. He going up, us down.

Choir: Talked to Susie about her sub who made her write "I will be good" 100 times.

Youth group: heard a talk on homosexuality and my question was answered.

First day without glasses in 9 years. Some asked me, "What happened?"

Monday, Jan. 9, 1978

Walked outside and found Chris and Martha had a pile of snowballs and were against me. Got in a big fight with Chris. He punched me in the mouth and broke my glasses. He said I did. Mom got mad at my language. Had to go to eye doctor when calm and get new frames and lenses. Rest of day spent in room because no one wanted me downstairs. Quiet dinner. Ironed napkins. Mom says I have to pay $50 but I say no way.

At night we did a lot of sledding. It was very fun! Afterwards, I went urine in the snow and I got my pants full of snow! (upset face)

Went to see A Chorus Line. I LOVED it. Everything was wonderful. The singing voices weren't spectacular. They made it up in dancing.

A lot of people were sledding down Poplar Ave. but each to his own. Hard to believe in. I'd much rather fit right than be a size too big.

(at stage crew meeting) A boy named Spenc was there. Same one who sat in the back of van and told me about his Quaaludes. He invited me to get drunk with him. Fat chance.

Friday, Jan. 4, 1980

In Life Science we watched "Gramps." It was really sad. This fine old man grew senile in his W Va. home and his whole family went with him and helped him as he died. By the end he retreated into his second childhood, needing diapers.

Babysat Pete L. this afternoon. He's so cute but he wasn't too happy with a dirty diaper.

Thursday, Jan. 3, 1980

Today I went to Center afterschool. Met Yin and Ang. There was this guy there who was in college but was a real jerk. He wanted to change the disco station Angi was listening to, which was fine with me, but he kept saying to me things like, "Stop swinging your butt" and he hit me with his stupid pool cue.

Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1980

At home listened to my stereo with headphones on. So neat! I could even hear the singers spitting! From 5:45-7:15 played b.ball at Timber Lane. I didn't do that badly and for once I didn't play offense when everyone was playing defense and vice versa. When I got home got enough courage to call person in charge of Amnesty I. She wasn't that friendly.

While at Brookses JW wanted to kiss me but we never did. ... Arrived home, fish's water 60 degrees. One fish died. Added hotter water. Will get a heater tomorrow. Soaked awful boil.
